Goldshield GS5

Goldshield produces the world’s only patented, functioning organosilane that has been fully stabilized in water. Goldshield’s GS5 uses a unique residual inhibition and protection technology that involves four compounds:

  • A surface penetrating chemical that reduces surface tension, permitting improved coverage of the antimicrobial
  • The Silane antimicrobial which forms a covalent bond with the substrate (mask material) permitting long term residual action
  • A nitrogen compound which positively charges the substrate, thereby attracting negatively charged microbes
  • A long chain carbon compound that mechanically disrupts the microbe cell structure, effectively killing it and creating a protective surface of persistent microbe destruction
